dc.description.abstractAt present, when in Latvia, as well as in the world we can observe slow in- crease of economical development, it is important to ensure the population with an opportunity to create additional income and to preserve the present living standard. The topical and important is the way, how the population could gain this in- come, is starting the entrepreneurship by individuals themselves. In Latvia the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) constitute 99,6% of the national economy and they are very important for the creation of gross domestic product and employment. The authors study the EU activities for the facilitation of the development of SMEs, the normative regulation of business environment in Latvia, as well as the conception of support measures implemented by state, which is one of the parts of programs for the economical stabilization and the renewal of eco-nomical growth in Latvia. On the basis of research results, the authors develop the recommendations for the facilitation of small business in Latvia.uk_UA
