Abstract

The full-scale invasion led to security risks and uncertainty, significant destruction of production and storage facilities, and blockade of sea transport routes (in peacetime, these routes accounted for about two-thirds of Ukraine's foreign trade turnover). Household deposits continue to grow in 2023, with foreign currency term deposits showing the largest growth due to the popularity of the 3-month deposit, which allows customers to buy dollars at a rate lower than the cash market. Time deposits in hryvnia increased very slowly and the main reason for this was too low rates, which made deposits not attractive enough.
