Просодична організація англомовного політичного дискурсу

Abstract

У кваліфікаційній роботі досліджено просодичні характеристики англомовного політичного дискурсу та їхню роль у формуванні переконливості, прагматичного впливу й комунікативної ефективності політичних виступів. Метою дослідження є з’ясування особливостей просодичної організації політичного мовлення та визначення функцій інтонації, темпу, ритму, паузування й сили голосу в побудові комунікативної стратегії політика. Досягнення мети забезпечено виконанням таких завдань: аналіз теоретичних засад понять «просодія», «політичний дискурс» та «ораторська комунікація»; огляд класифікацій просодичних засобів; визначення специфіки англомовного політичного виступу та основних чинників його впливовості; обґрунтування методологічних підходів до аналізу просодії; виявлення й опис ключових просодичних параметрів у зразках політичних промов; визначення їхнього функційного навантаження у вираженні переконливості, емоційності та прагматичних намірів мовця. Матеріалом дослідження є англомовні політичні промови сучасних британських та американських політичних діячів.

This thesis explores the prosodic characteristics of English political discourse and their role in shaping the persuasiveness, pragmatic impact, and communicative effectiveness of political speech. The aim of the study is to identify the specific features of prosodic organization in political communication and to determine the functions of intonation, tempo, rhythm, pausing, and voice intensity in constructing the speaker’s communicative strategy. To achieve this aim, the following objectives were set: to outline the theoretical foundations of the concepts of “prosody,” “political discourse,” and “public speaking”; to review classifications of prosodic devices; to define the characteristics of English political speech and the main factors contributing to its influence; to substantiate methodological approaches to prosodic analysis; to identify and describe key prosodic parameters in selected political speeches; and to assess their functional significance in expressing persuasiveness, emotionality, and the pragmatic intentions of the speaker. The material of the study consists of contemporary political speeches delivered by British and American politicians.
