Analysis of the economic and innovative development of the Euro-Mediterranean partnership

Abstract

The specifics of the current stage of globalization of the world economy determines the increase in the rate of internationalization, including innovation sphere , the intensification of international cooperation and the pursuit of convergence in all spheres of activity. South-Eastern Mediterranean region has been for many years an object of interest of many researchers. Countries of Euro-Mediterranean partnership in the second half of the twentieth century have beg u n to acquire experience in independent economic development, and some of them managed in such a short period of time to achieve high results. In modern conditions sustainable economic prosperity implies a high level of innovation development, which is especially important for developing countries of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership. Economic and innovative development of the region is characterized by a significant degree of non-uniformity: some progress in Turkey, Israel, Algeria and Egypt in expanding the economic potential everywhere coexist s with low growth rates and levels of economic development and innovation of Palestine, the Syrian Arab Republic and Tunisia. A significant impact on the economic and innovative development of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership is caused by political events. One of such event s is the "Arab Spring" in 2011, which has cover ed the majority of countries in the region. The purpose of this study is to identify patterns and trends of economic and innovative development of the region, which in recent years has become a zone of strategic interests of the world's leaders. T he historical background of the economic and innovative development of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership is presented in the article . T he main indicators of economic and innovative development of the region, the basic trends and obstacles which are o n the way of activati on the integration of these countries into the global community are analysed . According to the results of the analysis it has been done the grouping of levels of economic development and innovation that has allowed to allocate the leading countries, the countries with a moderate level of development and the outsiders. I t has become possible to develop more effective strategies for cooperation and implementation of international aid programs.

Специфика современного этапа глобализации мировой экономики определяет увеличение темпов интернационализации, в т. ч. в инновационной сфере, углубление международного сотрудничества и стремление к конвергенции всех сфер деятельности. Регион Юго-Восточного Средиземноморья уже на протяжении многих лет является объектом интереса многих исследователей. Страны Евро-средиземноморского партнерства только во второй половине ХХ века начали приобретать опыт независимого экономического развития, и некоторым из них удалось за столь короткий промежуток времени достичь высоких результатов. В современных условиях устойчивое экономическое процветание подразумевает высокий уровень инновационного развития, что особенно актуально для развивающихся стран Евро-средиземноморского партнерства. Экономическое и инновационное развитие стран данного региона характеризуется значительной степенью неравномерности: определенные успехи Турции, �?зраиля, Алжира и Египта в расширении экономического потенциала повсеместно соседствуют с низкими показателями и темпами роста уровня экономического и инновационного развития Палестины, Сирийской Арабской Республики и Туниса. Значительное воздействие на экономическое и инновационное развитие стран Евро-средиземноморского партнерства оказывают политические события, носящие зачастую радикальный характер. Одним из таких событий стала «Арабская весна» в 2011 году, охватившая большинство стран региона. Целью данного исследования является выявление особенностей и тенденций экономического и инновационного развития стран региона, который на протяжении последних лет стал зоной стратегических интересов мировых лидеров. Представлены исторические предпосылки экономического и инновационного развития стран Евро-средиземноморского партнерства. Проанализированы основные показатели экономического и инновационного развития стран региона, определены основные тенденции развития и препятствия, стоящие на пути активизации интеграции данных стран в мировое сообщество. По результатам анализа проведена группировка стран по уровням экономического и инновационного развития, что позволило выделить страны-лидеры, страны с умеренным уровнем развития и страны-аутсайдеры. Это дает возможность разработать более эффективные стратегии сотрудничества и реализации программ международной помощи. /p
